Tuberous Breasts - What is it
Tuberous breasts are considered those who have one or more of the following characteristics:
• small-base diameter
• 'tight' and elevated IMF
• small volume
• large areola
The deformity is usually congenital and can be uni- or bilateral.
Indications
Restoration of breast shape, contour and symmetry
Technique
The correction of the tubular breasts includes reduction of the areola diameter, dissection of the adhesions within the breast, lowering the inframmamary fold and often the use of breast implants. Postoperatively, the patient wears a sports-bra for 4-6 weeks.
